Leo being into wood crafts and making a wooden Spike replica for Raph and puts it in Spike’s old tank that Raph still keeps.
He was coming toward her, “I said baaaa- ah?” she’d been mid whine when he suddenly changed. Something felt wrong - like, wrong wrong. You know when you feel the hairs on the back of your neck starting to raise up and you know the second you turn around something bad is going to happen? Yeah, she had that feeling, and it was really starting to scare her. She turned her eyes when he suddenly stepped forward, then suddenly bolted shortly after toward her father’s room. She grimaced a little as she pulled a piece of glass from her hand and stared at the bleeding wound as it kept under the water, discoloring it and making her all the more nervous.
What was that about? She frowned, wrapping her hand up in some papertowels - she had to go into her Dad’s room just to get the first aid kit properly - it wasn’t bad enough for stitches or the Emergency room, thankfully - she couldn’t afford that anyway. She heard him mumbling in the closet, hands still gripped tight together to stop the bleeding with the towels, she hesitated - should she check on him? What was that about, though? He was so - he looked so dangerous. He’d never given anyone that sort of a look before - at least not that she’d seen herself so.. She frowned a little as she used her elbow to nudge the closet door open.
"Leo..?" she kept her voice low, quiet, careful even as she slowly pulled it open, eyes flickering down to see him, head in his hands, curled up in the corner of her father’s walk in, "… Aw, Leo.." she looked down at her hands, then at him, reaching out a little, then turning, then turning back to face him, and letting out a groan as she tilted her head back in a vain attempt of gaining some sort of advice on what she should do. She had no glass, but Leo needed her there, but she needed to wrap up her hand, but he was right there and something was really really wrong! AUGH!
The scent of blood. That was what was making him so crazy. But why? It was getting stronger when April came closer to him, making him cringe and tense up. His stomach was growling in pain for substance but..it was for blood? This scared him. He didn’t understand why this was happening to him. Leo never craved for something this like before. Never! He could see the copper tang in his tongue, making him drool and pant with hunger and yearning like he never felt before.
It got to the point where he was resisting so much to give in that it was physically painful. His body was convulsing with such need, his head was spinning and throbbing. He could the blood ooze from her cut, the rush of it in her own body and the thud of her heart. Leo opened his eyes, not realizing he had been crying from his struggle and saw April.
He tried not to look at the towel that wrapped around her hand. She was still bleeding and he could smell it. “April, you have to knock me out again. Please, April, please!” Leo begged her. He slowly uncurled himself and got on his knees in front of her. He panted heavily, every fiber of his being was telling him to bite her. He opened himself up, lifting his head a little so she could strike him quickly.
"April, do it now. Just trust me! Please do it now." Leo pleaded.
She didn’t smell any different from normal, really, though she happily accepted the box one he handed it to her, “Thanks!” she frowned when he mentioned possibly seeing a bug, but with his reaction being near zilch, she assumed it was just a play in the dark on his eyes or something. She opened the box after reading what they would need, “Sure! I need you to grab the hameburger meat from the freezer, milk, and butter for me.” She read through the box as she got the skillet up and out to get everything started, a bit of oil in first as she grabbed some measuring cups.
She just managed to grab one when the other, larger glass cup decided it wanted a piece of the action, too. Too bad it missed the stove just enough to shatter against her hand and against her clothes. She yelped in surprise, feet immediately pulling free to keep from getting broken or anything, but now she had a few not-so-small cuts on her fingers, “Ah dammit! Normally I can catch that, geeze,” she muttered angrily to herself as she brushed the glass from her sweater, “Don’t step here, Leo, there’s glass, ahhh, can you hand me the broom or something? Shit shit shit..” She put her hands under the water in the sink, eyes narrowed as she used her elbow to turn the water on.
Leo nodded quickly and headed to the fridge to collect the stuff. He looked around the shelves and found the smells overwhelming. What was up with his nose today? Leo wrinkled his beak as he grabbed the items. He was starving and yet he was..not hungry at the same time? He was confused but he knew he had to get something in his stomach after getting sick like that. He set everything on the counter and reached for the butter lastly before the sound of glass shattering startled him.
Leo moved away from the fridge and looked at the glass that now surrounded April. Some of it landed near him but he remained still to avoid stepping on it. “Are you okay? I’ll get a towel.” Leo said. He was about to move when he caught the smell of something really..really good. His body completely froze at the sight of blood on April’s hand. He was hungry..hungry..very—
His mouth ached and he gave April a sinister glare that he couldn’t stop. Leo made an advance towards her, ready to tackle her but something quickly snapped him back to his self. Without saying another word, Leo bolted from the kitchen and hurried away from her.
He went into her father’s bedroom and slipped inside the closet. He huddled in the corner of the small space, breathing heavily and trying to get himself to calm down. He never felt like that before and it scared him. He almost attacked April! He was drooling still. The sight of blood excited him so much and..and made him hungry. He was so confused. Leo curled up even more, trying to make himself disappear and placed his hands on his head. “What’s wrong with me..” He mumbled sadly.
She made her way out of the bathroom once he followed along behind her, looking over her shoulder at him with a quirked brow, “Leo, we gotta make sure something bad isn’t happening, seriously,” she smiled at him slightly, “We need to find out what’s going on, that’s all we need to do. Okay? I’m not gonna go running to the media about it, but,” she shifted her weight a little as she stood in the entryway to the kitchen, “I want to make sure you’re okay, all right?” She bit at her lower lip slightly and turned to head into the kitchen, “What do you feel like eating anyway?”
She wasn’t aware he could hear anything, too busy dealing with the other rush of thoughts that ran through her mind as to what could be happening - what might happen. She could see what had happened to Spi- no, what happened to Slash, even, and he had changed so drastically but.. It’d been nearly instant, though. She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck with a grunt as she started pulling things down from the cabinet to start on a quick dinner so her friend could eat.
"I feel like something from a box - if you don’t mind that is. Hamburger helper? It’s not pizza at least, right? We got cheeseburger mac and cheese uh.. Oh, there’s even tuna helper sweet, some fish might help and won’t curdle your stomach I don’t think," she grunted as she stood on tip-toe, reaching for the boxes in the top cabinet and silently cursing her father for being so tall and putting them up there to begin with.
He understood her concern, he found it strange himself though he felt so..rejuvenated that he really didn’t seem to care. His mind was else where now. Every little noise he caught easily, every little smell and dust. His senses felt over loaded with all this information. However, what caught his attention the most was April. Her movement was tracked by his quick and sharp eyes. Her skin, her freckles and her hair..he actually heard it rustle against her clothing and skin.
Leo broke away from his trance as she spoke again, making him blink around in confusion before settling to her again. He smiled, “Hamburger helper sounds good to me.” Leo said to her. “I can survive without pizza.” Leo walked over towards her and reached up to grab the box for her. His nose caught the unique smell again, his stomach growled and his mouth began to salivate excessively just from the scent. Leo paused for a second before grabbing the box for April and handing it to her. “Though I saw a bug.” Leo explained to her, covering up his odd behavior for that minute and chuckled. “Need help with it?
